Vessel Hudson Yards

Yet another architectural genius situated on the west side of Manhattan is the Vessel.

It stands as the centerpiece of Hudson Yards and attracts the crowd due to its creatively futuristic design.

A concept by Heatherwick Studio, The Vessel at Hudson Yards, was designed as a public space where the population of the neighborhood could engage and interact.

This structure provides a 360-degree view of Hudson Yards with its various viewing platforms and this marvel is visible from almost every place in Hudson Yards.

The Vessel New York closed

The Vessel Hudson Yards is temporarily closed with access allowed only to its ground level.

Entry to the base level is free and open to the public without any prior reservation.

It is open from Monday through Saturday between 10 am and 8 pm.

On Sundays, it is open from 11 am to 7 pm.

The restrictions in access come after the four unfortunate suicide incidents at the Vessel New York.

After the initial incidents measures were taken to curb the reoccurrence of such incidents but after the last case, the status of reopening the vessel is undecided.

What to expect at the Vessel Hudson Yards

The Vessel’s structure consists of 154 interconnected staircases.

There are 80 landings and over 2,500 steps in total on these stairs.

Even though it is a massive structure, The Vessel is a brilliantly designed structure that only covers the surface 50 feet at the bottom and expands as it reaches the peak of 16 stories.

Everything about it is unique starting from its design to the imported copper-like steel material used in its construction.

On its reflective outer you can see the reflection of the nearby skyscrapers and the people walking around it to gaze at its beauty.

Since it’s a temporary shutdown, the only way to enjoy this marvelous structure is touring it from the outside.

You can also enter the base ground floor and look up and around to praise the genius behind it.

The vessel remains an extremely popular attraction for people visiting the area and it is an unmissable spot for clicking pictures. A great way to know more about the Vessel is through a guided tour of Hudson Yards.
